Confessions of an Organized Mess...

First I feel like I should send my blog flowers and a note - I feel like I have really let it down in this relationship. I don't call, I don't write....huuuuuhhh - Hopefully it will forgive my lapse but the last two weeks have been crazy. However, drum roll (budhbudhbudhbudhbudbbbbbb) I have finished my craft room!!!! (aaahhhh ahhhhh auuuahh - that's the crowd going wild in my head). Our room is multi-purpose and now MAJORLY gorgeous. My confession is this I am hype-vigilant about organization - just ask my poor Hubby, but I will be the first to admit this room had been let go. After a nutty year and a hectic summer, my long suffering room was due a makeover - see for yourself:

This was the room where neatness came to die and I was fed up. My closets are organized even the kids are in size, color, and seasonal categories (not necessarily in that order) and the glasses in my cabinet are in height order - Don't judge! But this had become too much. I've known for a while what I wanted to do. And now I've made it a space that functions as a craft-room, an office, and a blogging sanctuary - hear that girl, "I'm back!" I hope you all like what I've done, I sure do. Suddenly I don't mind anymore that I can't sleep, it's all I can do to leave this room at night. I wish you all a sanctuary as lovely as I find mine!
AFTER :)

Some favorites:
By far one of my favorite things was giving this cabinet new life. As my mother-in-law said, "It just needed to be loved." And boy do I love it now!
This table was both a learning experience and a blast. All I could hear was my parents voice telling me not to write or paint on the furniture all those years - I swear I must have cackled through half of this project - Thanks again Patty!
The peg Board was another favorite: I ended up buying a huge piece and having it cut down because the pre-cut pieces were too small and way more expensive - Go figure? I think I'll use the rest when we finally make it around to the garage.

Another fun addition was the inexpensive buckets I found ($1 @ Target to be exact) I saw fancier ones on BHG DIY website and I thought it was a great idea - I suppose you could even cover or decoupage it to fit better with your color scheme - luckily for me there were perfect.

.Scissors on clearance at Hobby Lobby live right above my chalkboards now and just add a bit of visual interest - only about $25 for this whole wall - I love doing things that are inexpensive

And finally my mirror - I know it was in an earlier posting - but I just love how it turned out. I am so happy with my room - and now to take a weekend off. I promised my Hubby a reprieve from crafting and updates for a week - then it's back to the game. (I know that I didn't say a thing about not decorating for fall though - (fingers crossed behind my back)!
